Abott and Costello on Unemployment

COSTELLO: I want to talk about the unemployment rate in America.


ABBOTT: Good Subject. Terrible Times. It's 9%.


COSTELLO: That many people are out of work?


ABBOTT: No, that's 16%.


COSTELLO: You just said 9%.


ABBOTT: 9% Unemployed.


COSTELLO: Right 9% out of work.


ABBOTT: No, that's 16%.


COSTELLO: Okay, so it's 16% unemployed.


ABBOTT: No, that's 9%.


COSTELLO: WAIT A MINUTE. Is it 9% or 16%?


ABBOTT: 9% are unemployed. 16% are out of work.


COSTELLO: IF you are out of work you are unemployed.


ABBOTT: No, you can't count the "Out of Work" as the unemployed. You have to look for work to be unemployed.


COSTELLO: BUT THEY ARE OUT OF WORK!!!


ABBOTT: No, you miss my point.


COSTELLO: What point?


ABBOTT: Someone who doesn't look for work, can't be counted with those who look for work. It wouldn't be fair.


COSTELLO: To who?


ABBOTT: The unemployed.


COSTELLO: But they are ALL out of work.


ABBOTT: No, the unemployed are actively looking for work... Those who are out of work stopped looking. They gave up. And, if you give up, you are no longer in the ranks of the unemployed.


COSTELLO: So if you're off the unemployment rolls, that would count as less unemployment?


ABBOTT: Unemployment would go down. Absolutely!


COSTELLO: The unemployment just goes down because you don't look for work?


ABBOTT: Absolutely it goes down. That's how you get to 9%. Otherwise, it would be 16%. You don't want to read about 16% unemployment do ya?


COSTELLO: That would be frightening.


ABBOTT: Absolutely.


COSTELLO: Wait, I got a question for you. That means they're two ways to bring down the unemployment number?


ABBOTT: Two ways is correct.


COSTELLO: Unemployment can go down if someone gets a job?


ABBOTT: Correct.


COSTELLO: And unemployment can also go down if you stop looking for a job?


ABBOTT: Bingo.


COSTELLO: So there are two ways to bring unemployment down, and the easier of the two is to just stop looking for work.


ABBOTT: Now you're thinking like an economist.


COSTELLO: I don't even know what the hell I just said!


And now you know why Obama's unemployment figures are improving!

I can't take credit for this posting. This was given to me by a friend and was an eye opener, even though I knew all of this. It took me reading this to understand the full impact of the message. I hope that others will open their eyes to this and understand what Obama stands for.

On a personal note, have you noticed that our cars are being beaten to death by roads and streets that are heavily potholed and worn out?

The roads around my area in California are beginning to resemble third world countries that I have visited.

The article below hit home when I realized that the state's and county budgets are not being used to fund much, if anything, that actually benefits the people who actually pay taxes.

Does this bother you in the least while the other benefits listed in the article below keep getting fully funded???

BTW, Military and other government Retirements, Social Security, and Medicare are NOT "Entitlements;" they were earned through years of Service - unlike life-long, family, welfare; food stamps; foreign aid; frivolous inmate benefits; congressional benefits; etc.

It's incredible that 42% of Americans think that this unqualified, incompetent, dishonorable, ego-driven fraud is doing a good job. Take a moment. Admit it to yourself. You know who his supporters are. They are the people that YOU support.

From now thru November 2012 this should be required weekly or at least monthly reading BY ALL WHO VOTE!!!

Did you notice who Obama threatened when he wasn't getting his way on raising the debt ceiling? He threatened to not pay:

• Social Security Retirees, Military Retirees, Social Security disability and Federal Retirees.

Now..let this sink in really good.

• He did not threaten to stop payments to millions of illegal aliens (SSI)
• He did not threatened to take frivolous benefits such as Internet access away from violent inmates
• He did not offer to fire some of the thousands of unnecessary federal employees that he and his wife Michelle hired
• He did not offer to cut down on his or his wife's frivolous gallivanting around the world on Air Force One
• He did not threaten to not pay the senators and representatives or any of their staff
• He did not threaten to take benefits away from welfare recipients
• He did not threaten the food stamp programs
• He did not threaten to not pay foreign aid
• He did not threaten to cut back on anything that involves his base voters

The list could go on and on. He is in full political re-election mode!

Why are we allowing this person to destroy this wonderful country with his selfishness and his lies?

His type of change is killing our country. He needs to be stopped and only our votes can stop him.

Do not forget about his tactics when it's election time. Vote Obama out of the Presidency in 2012.
