Well... It's been a while since my last posting. I've been VERY busy with school. Even at that, I feel I MUST take a break and write about all this fraud, waste, and abuse going on in the Obama Administration. An administration that he promised wouldn't be wasteful. Yeah... right... like none of us could see behind the curtain.
Now I know that I posted all this information in a link on Facebook, but there's more that the article didn't touch on. I did a paper in college a couple of months ago on Michael Moore's "Sicko" where he attempts to portray the social health care system as a good thing. What he neglected to mention was what it would really mean to the American economy. An economy that is being blasted to shreds by the current administration.
Sure, Bush and the Republicans might have started the current ball rolling by breaking off and being more wasteful like Democrats are, but really... Obama is making things worse, not better.
How do I know? I did some research on CURRENT government fraud, waste and abuse for that paper I mentioned earlier. Plus, I've got some more ammo thanks to some more information that has come to light about the wasteful spending go on how in D.C.
I'm not going to post everything here because it's a lot. Too see everything, go here: http://coburn.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?a=Files.Serve&File_id=a7e82141-1a9e-4eec-b160-6a8e62427efb. Oh... and I'm going to add more stuff to what this shows.
Forest Service to Replace Windows in Visitor Center Closed in 2007 (Amboy, WA) - $554,763. Yep... they want to replace windows in a place that has been closed since 2007 and there are no plans to reopen the center.
“Dance Draw” - Interactive Dance Software Development (Charlotte, NC) - $762,372. This is nice. This was stimulus money given to the University of North Carolina to develop software that will create interactive dancers for on line use. That way, the public could act like choreographers without needing to actual have real people dance.
North Shore Connector to Professional Sports Stadiums, Casino (Pittsburgh, PA) - $62 million. This connector was supposed to extend the Pittsburg’s light rail under the Allegheny River to the new Rivers Casino, as well as to its two professional sports arenas, PNC Park (home of the Pirates) and Heinz Field (home of the Steelers). The problem with this is that this project is WAY over budget. Worst yet is that the local government in Pittsburgh doesn't want it anymore.
FEMA Stalls Two Texas Fire Stations More Than a Year, Increases Costs (San Antonio, TX) - $7.3 million. The issue here isn't really the money. San Antonio had the money to build these fire stations on their own, but here comes "stimulus" money to ruin things again. Now, San Antonio has no idea when these stations are going to be built thanks to WAY too much red tape.
Abandoned Train Station Converted Into Museum (Glassboro, NJ) - $1.2 million. This station has been abandoned for more than 40 years now. Isn't there something better we could be using $1.2 million for like PAYING DOWN OUR DEBT?????
Ants Talk. Taxpayers Listen (San Francisco, CA) - $1.9 million. Money used to study ants outside of the U.S. Need I say more???
Stimulus Project Threatens Pastor’s House (Newark, OH) - $1.8 million. This is for a road project that is passing close to a group of houses, one of which belongs to a pastor that has been his family for three generations. The construction has ruined over two dozen houses including the pastor's house.
Old Abandoned Iron Furnace Gets Facelift after Money Squandered on Same Project Years Before (Fitchburg, KY) – $357,710. I believe and like to save/restore historic sights, but now is just not the time for the federal government to be using any money for such projects.
Power Plant Construction Won’t Start for at Least Two Years (Kern County, CA) - $308 million. This power plant is actually mostly owned by BP, not that it's necessarily bad. The problem is, just like Obamacare, we'll pay for it now, but won't see anything for at least two years.
Town Replaces New Sidewalks With Newer Sidewalks That Lead to Ditch (Boynton, OK) - $89,298. These sidewalks are only five years old. Better yet, the north end of this sidewalk passes by no homes or businesses and leads users right into a ditch!
But wait... there's more!!!
Upgraded Office Space and Indoor Parking for Kansas Politicians (Topeka, Kansas) - $39.7 million plus.
$450,950 to keep a pool open in Youngstown, OH during the summer.
$3.8 million project costs jobs and drastically reduces Shopping Center Business in Normandy Park, WA.
$2.6 million to plant trees and create urban forests in NV, SC, PA, and GA.
$677,462 in stimulus money to study why monkeys and chimpanzees react the way they do to feelings of inequity and unfairness.
$497,893 for dumping your cigarettes for a smart phone.
$199,862 to help Siberians to become lobbyists with Russian Policymakers.
$298,543 for researchers at the Southwest Research Institute (SWRI) in Texas to forecaster the weather ON OTHER PLANETS!!!!
$144,541 to see how monkeys react to getting high on coke!
$529,648 to study the effects of local populations on the environment IN THE HIMALAYAS!!!!
$712,883 so scientists can create a friggin' joke machine. What a joke!
$1.2 million for marketing video games to the elderly. The same group that seems to complain that kids play too many video games!
$25 billion that is spent every year on federal properties that are not being used.
$123 billion spent annually on government projects that have been already found not to work.
2.6 million that is being sent to China to train their prostitutes on how to drink more responsibility on the job! Don't we send enough stuff over there already?????
Improper purchases such as home gaming systems, jewelry, liquor, and vacations on government credit cards! I'd like someone with a military travel card to try this. Congress = friggin' hypocrites!!!
$3.9 million spent recently on rearranging desks and offices at the Securities and Exchange Commission's headquarters.
$146 million spent annually on upgrades to flights for federal employees who refuse to fly coach. (Insert heavy sarcasm here) Aw... those poor people...
$350,000 to sponsor NASCAR driver David Gilliland.
$500,000 given to Alaska Airlines so they could paint a Chinook salmon on a Boeing 737.
$100 million in unused travel tickets initially purchased by the Department of Defense that were refundable tickets, only the Department of Defense never had them refunded.
$60,000 per hour to take pictures of Air Force One in front of national landmarks. I have no idea how many times this has happened, but does it really matter?
$50,000 for paintings painted of high-ranking government officials. That's for each piece, not a total amount!
$1.3 million per month n rent for a medical lab that cannot be used by the federal government, but they are paying anyway.
$2.4 billion on new jets for the Pentagon that it says it doesn't need and won't use.
$1.8 million spent to build a private golf course.
$2 billion that is paid annually to farmers not to farm their land!!! So much for Farmville....
There's more, but this is getting a bit too long.
Really.... I just wanted to point this all out as a sampling of all the fraud, waste, and abuse that Obama is doing so that when he continues to say that it's Bush's fault, you will know that he's even worse.
Knowledge is power!!!!
