Obama's Thugocracy

This was on Fox News' Opinion column written by Andrea Tantaros. I usually only post a link to stories from web pages, but this time I'm going to do a copy/paste so I can add my own comments in bold red.

-------------------------------------

From the G.M. bondholders, to the Black Panthers at polling stations, to ACORN to the mobs showing up at the homes of private citizens, Obama is running a Hugo Chavez-style thugocracy. Why doesn't this surprise me? Oh... I know... because I think Obama like Chavez even though Chavez bad mouths him. Why? Because Obama wants to be like Chavez. Pretty obvious with the aforementioned clues.

This past Sunday, in one of the most aggressive and offensive intimidation tactics to date, hundreds of members of the largest union – the SEIU – stormed the front yard of Bank of America deputy general counsel Greg Baer’s home. The angry mob had bullhorns, signs and even broke the law by trespassing to bully Baer’s teenage son, the only one home at the time, who locked himself in the bathroom out of fear. I wonder what would have happened had Tea Party members had done the same with ACORN's leadership... Oh... I know... CNN and the rest of the liberal media would have been all over the story. They would have said things like... "Tea Partiers are prone to violence as shown today as they raided the homes of ACORN leadership." They are SO one way!

This is what unions do. They pressure politicians into spending too much. They push government into bad policy decisions. They sacrifice the private sector for the public sector. And now, they trespass and break the law only to scare the children of private citizens to get their way. I've always felt the idea of what unions were supposed to do wasn't a bad idea. They WERE to protect the working man/woman. They don't do that anymore. Rather, they push and shove around those who aren't a part of their union. They force themselves on to others and demand more than non-union employees get. How unfair is that????

If you think the unions are working alone, think again.

These protests, the ones storming Wall Street bank lobbies and now the private homes of bankers, are likely being carefully coordinated with the White House to increase their profile against the financial fat cats and help pass disgraced Connecticut Senator Chris Dodd’s financial regulatory bill. That doesn't surprise me. The unions have been in league with the more liberal branch of Capitol Hill anyway.

Remember, when the White House visitor records were finally made public, it was SEIU boss Andy Stern who was the most frequent guest.

There are also no coincidences in politics. The bill passed the Senate last night.

From the G.M. bondholders, to the Black Panthers at polling stations, to ACORN to these assaults on private citizens, Obama is running a Hugo Chavez-style thugocracy. Like Chavez, he gets non-official "allies" to act as his henchemen and do the intimidation work. Obama provides the narrative and tells the story of "greed" while the SEIU provides the muscle. This is about power, not prosperity. You GOTTA HATE Chicago style politics.

This time it’s gone too far.

Unions see the writing on the wall. The goose that laid the golden egg is bleeding on the operating table – and they’re the ones who killed it. They are bankrupting local and state governments, and putting a strain on the federal budget. Unions have also put us at a major trade imbalance. The stimulus has gone to create more public sector union jobs. These jobs cost on average, 30K more than their private sector equivalents. But this is what Obama wanted in the first place. More government jobs so the people are more reliant on the government for everything including jobs.

Take New York State, for example, once upon a time there was manufacturing, a robust Wall Street engine of growth, Fortune 500 companies aplenty. That “Empire State” is no more. The unions lobbied to ensure that these companies were taxed to death and made it extremely challenging to do business -- so much that it became easier to do business in communist China.

Let’s be clear, I’m not defending Bank of America. I'm defending the American tax payer from organized labor who has bled them dry and the politicians who have been too weak to stand up to their gangster ways.

Unsurprisingly, the SEIU has made no apology for their behavior toward Baer’s family. Their spokespeople argue that the protest was over home foreclosures under Bank of America’s watch, but that still doesn’t give them the right to break the law. It also doesn’t allow them a carve out like they demanded in the health care bill for their costly Cadillac insurance plans. It’s absurd that in a recession, the unions feel they deserve special treatment because they are connected to the party in power. If that’s what they’re arguing they need to stand up and say it.

In this economy, you can't punch someone without feeling it yourself. Punch the bank, they stop making loans, thus hurting the private sector. Punch the private sector, you hurt the markets. Hurt the Street and you hurt the pensions funds, in fact, the very same ones unions are going gangster to protect. It's just a shame that the Kool Aide drinking, Obama supporters don't see this. They keep themselves blind to this fact while the continue their mantra of, "It's all Bush's fault!"

We now know, there is nothing they won't do, nobody the unions won't intimidate. And the president, who promised to preside over an administration free from special interest influence, should be held accountable. As long as we continue to feed the unions, the country will continue to decline. It’s time to stand up to this behavior with the same muscle they’ve used to bully our country all these years and send a message loud and clear: we will not be intimidated. Exactly. I wonder what it will be like if we can get a strong Republican like Reagan was into office to smack these union thugs around.

Mexico is upset

Thank you to my friend, Kuya Vic, for sending this to me. This is what I've been saying all along. Mexico is a bunch of one ways when it comes to illegal immigration. Read on to learn the truth for it shall set you free! Then turn around and send a message to the Obama Administration demanding that they secure our boarders and kick out all illegal immigrants!

----------------------------------------

MEXICO IS ANGRY!

Three cheers for Arizona!

The shoe is on the other foot and the Mexicans from the State of Sonora, Mexico doesn't like it. Can you believe the nerve of these people? It's almost funny. The State of Sonora is angry at the influx of Mexicans into Mexico. Nine state legislators from the Mexican State of Sonora traveled to Tucson to complain about Arizona's new employer crackdown on illegals from Mexico.

It seems that many Mexican illegals are returning to their hometowns and the officials in the Sonora state government are ticked off.

A delegation of nine state legislators from Sonora was in Tucson on Tuesday to state that Arizona's new Employer Sanctions Law will have a devastating effect on the Mexican state.

At a news conference, the legislators said that Sonora, - Arizona's southern neighbor, - made up of mostly small towns, - cannot handle the demand for housing, jobs and schools that it will face as Mexican workers return to their hometowns from the USA without jobs or money.

The Arizona law, which took effect Jan. 1, punishes Arizona employers who knowingly hire individuals without valid legal documents to work in the United States. Penalties include suspension of, or loss of, their business license.

The Mexican legislators are angry because their own citizens are returning to their hometowns, placing a burden on THEIR state government. 'How can Arizona pass a law like this?' asked Mexican Rep Leticia Amparano-Gamez, who represents Nogales.

'There is not one person living in Sonora who does not have a friend or relative working in Arizona ,' she said, speaking in Spanish. 'Mexico is not prepared for this, for the tremendous problems it will face as more and more Mexicans working in Arizona and who were sending money to their families return to their home-towns in Sonora without jobs,' she said. 'We are one family, socially and economically,' she said of the people of Sonora and Arizona

Wrong!

The United States is a sovereign nation, not a subsidiary of Mexico, and its taxpayers are not responsible for the welfare of Mexico's citizens.

It's time for the Mexican government, and its citizens, to stop feeding parasitically off the United States and to start taking care of its/their own needs!

Too bad that other states within the USA don't pass a law just like that passed by Arizona.

Maybe that's the answer, since our own Congress will do nothing!

New Immigration Laws: Read to the bottom or you will miss the message...

  1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools
  2. All ballots will be in this nation's language.
  3. All government business will be conducted in our language.
  4. Non-residents will NOT have the right to vote no matter how long they are here.
  5. Non-citizens will NEVER be able to hold political office.
  6. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, or other government assistance programs. Any burden will be deported.
  7. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount at least equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.
  8. If foreigners come here and buy land... options will be restricted. Certain parcels including waterfront property are reserved for citizens naturally born into this country.
  9. Foreigners may have no protests; no demonstrations, no waving of a foreign flag, no political organizing, no bad-mouthing our president or his policies. These will lead to deportation.
  10. If you do come to this country illegally, you will be actively hunted and when caught, sent to jail until your deportation can be arranged. All assets will be taken from you.

Too strict ?

The above laws are current immigration laws of MEXICO!

ACORN CEO admits to be a socialist

This is something I start about a month ago, but never finished. Well... I'm finally getting around to it. ;-)

Fox News has got us covered again.

I find this to be a sick joke. Why? Here's a few things.

  1. ACORN is an unofficial branch of the federal government which is under direct control of the Obama administration.
  2. ACORN's CEO has admitted that the company is socialist.
  3. One could conclude that the Obama administration is socialist.
And let me tell you something else, Ms. Lewis.... You liberals get pissy with the whole name calling thing. Don't start something that you aren't prepared to get back!

What also upsets me is that fact that Ms. Lewis got a pass from the liberal media as all liberals do. Just imagine if conservatives had called the Obama movement a "bowel movement"! You're damn right they would have DEMANDED an IMMEDIATE, public apology. Include the fact that even she thinks that any opposition to Obama equal racism. When are Obama supporters going to understand that it's not about his race! It's about in politics!

Obama cowers before Mexico

As I normally do when I get stuff from the Grassfire Nation, I'll be adding my personal comments in boldface red.

Before you get into the meat of this, there are a few things I'd like to add.

Mexico is worse than us when it comes to illegal immigration. If you don't have the right papers in Mexico, you are deported, no questions ask.

Mexico is well known for shooting illegals crossing their southern boarder. Why don't you hear about it on the news? It's because they don't want America to know how hypocritical they really are.

-------------------------------------------------
From the Desk of:
Steve Elliott, Grassfire Nation

What President Obama did yesterday in the Rose Garden with Mexican President Felipe Calderon was an affront to EVERY citizen in the U.S. Read the outrageous details and action items below. --Steve

Yesterday, while hosting Mexican President Calderon, Obama condemned the new Arizona immigration law saying it was "a misdirected expression of frustration," and that he was looking for a federal fix that "the nation could embrace." And that, Mr. President, would be a simple matter of securing our boarders and enforcing our immigration laws as Arizona is trying to do.

The only thing Obama needs to be looking for is a copy of SB1070 to read. Because if he read the new law he'd quickly understand that Arizonans are employing a federal fix by enforcing existing federal laws. But then again, does he actually read anything or is he more reactionary?

But as we've already seen from Attorney General Holder and Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano, reading the bill before condemning it is the norm with this Administration... Exactly.

And here's why!

Obama and his elitist cohorts are using the Arizona law to paint their political opponents as racists and xenophobes to accomplish two goals:

--to eliminate our border and introduce widespread amnesty

--to rally and prime their base for victories in November.

That's why Obama is posturing right now with Mexico's president - no doubt briefing him with the talking points to ratchet up the rhetoric against conservatives and the Tea Party movement.

They believe that the new Arizona law gives them their best opportunity to demonize and discredit us, and they are putting on a grand show to mislead those not in the know! Status quot. Sad fact is that there are too many of us not in the know and it's because they are allowing themselves to be lead around by the nose. Knowledge is power!

Take a moment right now to do two very important things.

First, sign our petition supporting Arizona's new immigration law (SB1070) by clicking below, and then call the White House and express your feelings about Obama turning his back on you in favor of Mexico (we've posted the White House numbers below).

If you aren't sure about the law, we've posted it and an important fact sheet separating fact from fiction on the petition!

Once we reach our goal of 100,000 signatures, we will deliver the petitions as a show of national support for Governor Jan Brewer as well as key lawmakers on Capitol Hill.

+ + Call the White House Today!

I'm urging ALL members of Grassfire Nation to call the White House today, put the President and his Administration on notice and express our frustration at him for condemning SB1070 and siding with Mexico!

Let's let Obama know that we understand his political game, and we simply aren't willing to allow him to disrespect the fine people of Arizona, our Constitution or the millions of patriots who are fighting against his socialist push.

Here is the White House comments line: 202-456-1111

If the line is busy, please call the White House switchboard at 202-456-1414 and ask to be connected to the comments line.

As always thank you for standing with Grassfire Nation.

P.S. If we let the Arizona attacks go unchallenged, we will give the Left the key to passing amnesty AND winning in November.

Military Pay Raise of 1.9% Likely in 2011

Before I start, here's a link to the article from Military.com that started this blog.

I'd like to say that this is so sick. I retired from 20 years of active duty to the Navy this past January. I served under George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and finally Barack Hussein Obama. Even Bill Clinton gave us better pay raises, but I'm getting ahead of myself. Why do I mention this? Simple. It's so you know that I know what I'm talking about.

I could say that I can't believe this is all the military is going to get, but it doesn't surprise me at all considering what Obama believes concerning military pay. He has talked in the past about CUTTING military pay. Yeah... Obama... who thinks that once you've made so much money, how much more do you need. The same Obama who is independently wealthy to the tune of $5.5 million dollars. Don't believe me? Here's the story from The Swamp.

What's also sad is that this 1.9% raise will be THE LOWEST since we became an all voluntary military back in 1973.

I like what Rep. Joe Wilson, a Republican from South Carolina has to say about this,

“I would challenge anyone to find a civilian job that has the same set of requirements and risks as those experienced by our military personnel. For me, the assertion that personnel costs are crowding out the ability to fund other defense priorities should not be solved by asking military personnel to take less.”
Besides, it's not like in the civilian world.

All enlisted men and women can't just quit to find another job when they want to without consequences (some serious such as jail time). They are under contract, which means they are under obligation to complete that contract before they can quit.

Some officers are under the same contract with the same consequences for breaking their contract. Those that aren't are allowed to get out whenever they want, but it does take some time for paperwork to be cleared.

Military men and women (both enlisted and officers) cannot ask for a pay raise. The closest they can come to that is ensuring that they do what they have to do in order to advance in rank.

Military men and women (both enlisted and officers) cannot ask to work more hours to get more pay. They don't get overtime. They don't get time and a half for working on holidays or the weekend. They don't get a night differential for working at night. They get paid a flat rate no matter how many hours they put into a day or night. When I was still active duty, I used to shift work for 12 hours at a time, both day and night. I even had to work extra shifts to cover for people on vacation. I'd average as much as a 60 hour work week. I NEVER got any extra pay for that.

Lastly, I'd like to say that if the federal government is SO worried about the money they spend, they why did they waste SO much in earmarks in their health care reform bill? Why did they waste SO much in order to "bail out" companies that should have been allowed to fail? It's a natural process in a free economy. Sure, it really sucks for the employees, but you can't save everyone. They should be allowed to fail because it makes them work harder known that they could fail.

Kagan + Obama + Obama Appointees = No Experience

The below is from Mathew Staver who is the Founder and Chairman of "Liberty Counsel". As he has been doing, Obama wants to appoint someone to a high position who has just as much experience has he has at being the head of a government.

What's also worrisome about Kagan is the fact that she wrote a senior thesis in college concerning her worry about the shrinking of socialism. I just hope the Republicans in Congress get their act together and filibuster her like Democrats did to Samuel Alito.

Oh... did anyone else notice how proud the Democrats where that they nominated Sonia Sotomayor? Like they were the FIRST to do so for a Hispanic. HUGH eye roll there!

Democrats LOVE to say that Republicans are the party of "no", but I've got a message for you Democrats. You are the party of ONE WAY!!!! You're more than happy to point out others errors and issues, but you ignore your own even when you're just as bad if not worse!

----------------------------------------------------

Just hours ago, President Obama nominated Solicitor General Elena Kagan as his candidate to replace retiring Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens.

Kagan is Barack Obama's long-time collaborator and political supporter (also a significant Obama campaign contributor) who has never served as a judge at any level, and has virtually no experience as a lawyer in real life.

In fact, Kagan has even less experience at being a judge than the President did at being an executive before he was elected. The extensive experience they share is in transnational law (looking to foreign law to shape American law). Ms. Kagan and the President both taught at the University of Chicago Law School for a period of time in the early 1990's and were both active in Chicago's legal and political environment.

Unfortunately, Elena Kagan, like the President, has an unsettling attitude toward religious organizations and their influence on society. Writing in a memo concerning counseling teenagers during unwanted pregnancies, she said:

When government funding is to be used for projects so close to the central concerns of religion, all religious organizations should be off limits.

She later recanted this insensitive and impractical statement by admitting it was "the dumbest thing I ever heard," but there is little doubt that Kagan holds to the old, discredited fable that there must be a "separation between church and state."

Elena Kagan is perhaps best known for banning the military from recruiting on the Harvard Law School campus because of her opposition to the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy.

The Associated Press characterized her nomination this way: "At 50 years old, Kagan would be the youngest justice on the court, which would give her the opportunity to extend Obama's legacy for a generation."

Frankly, Barack Obama's socialist "legacy" should not be extended by so much as a week, let alone a generation. But as she proved while getting support for a radical restructuring of Harvard's law curriculum, Kagan IS a consensus builder and that's why she is such a dangerous choice for a life-time appointment to the nation's High Court.

If you sometimes feel like the America we love is unraveling at the seams, you are correct. Our Constitution is under vicious attack and is being marginalized. If liberal legal thinkers like Elena Kagan and Barack Obama have their way, it will "evolve" to the point of being completely unrecognizable.

A socialistic mandate is being enacted throughout our government. Political correctness has replaced the cherished values of our founding. We are being pushed toward becoming a European-style democracy with an all-powerful central government.

Right now, the Obama Administration and 111th Congress are obsessed with ramming through unpopular, controversial bills like the Financial Reform Act, Cap and Trade, Immigration Reform, an FCC takeover of the Internet, plus enacting repeals of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" and the "Defense of Marriage Act."

Pushing the "Employment Non-Discrimination Act" (ENDA) and getting extremist judges approved at all levels of the judiciary are also high on the Administration's pre-November wish list.

Meanwhile, there are disasters unfolding in the Gulf of Mexico, Tennessee and Kentucky - all on the heels of an onslaught of tornadoes in Arkansas and flooding in the northeast. Americans are facing unbelievable catastrophes in our own back yard plus a disastrous ten percent unemployment rate...and yet, where is the government's focus? On passing their socialist "reform" agenda!

The plain fact is that our government's priorities are grossly misplaced. Wall Street Journal columnist Fred Barnes hit the nail squarely on the head with this recent comment:

"The White House wants to pass as much legislation as possible before losing its big majorities [in Congress], no matter how unpopular its proposals are."

The Dinner Roll

This was given to me by a friend of mine. It's a quick and very dirty look at Obama's march to socialism and what it means to all Americans.

I'd like to add that I can't understand why Obama supports can't see ANY of this. I can't understand why they think that those who have worked don't deserve what they have.

I will agree that we are supposed to help each other, but you HAVE to help yourself as well. What do I mean?

  1. If you can't work because of a boneafide physical or mental issue, then I can understand why you need the financial help you need and I have NO issue with helping you as much as I can.
  2. If you CAN work, but choose not to... I feel NO pity for you.
  3. If you work, but would rather sit on your butt and collect a pay check.... see #2.

"When the people fear their government, there is tyranny; when the government fears the people, there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson

-------------------------------

Once upon a time I was invited to the White House for a private dinner with the President.

I am a respected businessman with a factory that produces memory chips for computers and portable electronics.

There was some talk that my industry was being scrutinized by the administration, but I paid it no mind.

I live in a FREE country.

There's nothing that the government can do to me if I've broken no laws.

My wealth was EARNED honestly, and an invitation to dinner with an American President is an honor.

I checked my coat, was greeted by the Chief of Staff, and joined the President in a yellow dining room.

We sat across from each other at a table draped in white linen.

The Great Seal was embossed on the china.

Uniformed staff served our dinner.

The meal was served and I was startled when my waiter suddenly reached out, plucked a dinner roll off my plate and began nibbling it as he walked back to the kitchen...

"Sorry 'bout that," said the President. "Andrew is very hungry."

"I don't appreciate..." I began, but as I looked into the calm brown eyes across from me, I felt immediately guilty and petty.

It was a dinner roll.

"Of course," I concluded and reached for my glass.

Before I could, however, another waiter reached forward, took the glass away and swallowed the wine in a single gulp.

"And his brother, Eric, is very thirsty," said the President.

I didn't say anything.

The President is testing my compassion, I thought. I withheld my comments and decided to play along.

I don't want to seem unkind....

My plate was whisked away before I had tasted a bite.

"Eric's children are also quite hungry."

With a lurch, I crashed to the floor.

My chair had been pulled out from under me.

I stood, brushing myself off angrily, and watched as it was carried from the room.

"And their grandmother can't stand for long."

I excused myself, smiling outwardly, but inside feeling like a fool.

Obviously I had been invited to the White House to be sport for some game.

I reached for my coat to find it had been taken.

I turned to the President.

"Their grandfather doesn't like the cold."

I wanted to shout, "That was my coat!"

But again, I looked at the placid smiling face of my host and decided I was being a poor sport.

I spread my hands helplessly and chuckled.

Then I felt my hip pocket and realized my wallet was gone.

I excused myself and walked to a phone on an elegant side table.

I learned shortly that my credit cards had been maxed out, my bank accounts emptied, my retirement and equity portfolios had vanished, and my wife and been thrown out of our home.

Apparently, the waiters and their families were moving in.

The President hadn't moved or spoken as I learned all this, but finally I lowered the phone into its cradle and turned to face him.

"Andrew's whole family has made bad financial decisions.

They haven't planned for retirement and they need a house.

They recently defaulted on a subprime mortgage.

I told them they could have your home.

They need it more than you do."

My hands were shaking.

I felt faint. I stumbled back to the table and knelt on the floor.

The President cheerfully cut his meat, ate his steak, and drank his wine.

I lowered my eyes and stared at the small grey circles on the tablecloth that were water drops.

"By the way," he added, "I have just signed an Executive Order nationalizing your factories.

I'm firing you as head of your business.

I'll be operating the firm now for the benefit of all mankind.

There's a whole bunch of Erics and Andrews out there and they can't come to you for jobs groveling like beggars.... we need to spread YOUR wealth around...."

I looked up.

The President dropped his spoon into the empty ramekin which had been his creme Brule.

He drained the last drops of his wine.

As the table was cleared, he lit a cigarette and leaned back in his chair.

He stared at me.

I clung to the edge of the table as if it were a ledge and I were a man hanging over an abyss.

I thought of the years behind me; of the life I had lived.

The life I had earned with a lifetime of work, risk and struggle.

Why was I punished?

How had I allowed it to be taken?

What game had I played and lost?

I looked across the table and noticed with some surprise that there was no game board between us.

What I done wrong?

As if answering the unspoken thought, President Obama suddenly cocked his head, locked his empty eyes to mine, and bared a million teeth, chuckling wryly as he folded his hands.

"You should have stopped me at the dinner roll," he said.

WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
