Obama's Finance Reform

The below is originally from Steve Elliot of Grassfire Nation. As usual, I'm going to color my comments in red.

On Monday, the financial regulatory reform bill is expected to be brought up for vote in the Senate - a bill that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell says, "not only allows for taxpayer-funded bailouts of Wall Street banks, it institutionalizes them." Of course, those of us who know who Obama really is and what he believes already know this.

Of course President Obama disagrees saying "Every day we don't act, the same system that led to bailouts remains in place… Opposing reform will leave taxpayers on the hook if a crisis like this ever happens again." Oh, but he forgets that the bailouts where HIS idea. HE wanted the bailouts. In fact, our economic down fall was due to DEMOCRATS! THEY were in charge of Congress when things started going south.

Even though I don't pretend to know everything about this financial overhaul, I've seen enough of Obama to know that when he says, "Every day we don't act…" I reflexively reach for my wallet. Me too.

In today's Wall Street Journal, their story "The New Master of Wall Street" breaks the finance reform bill down for all to easily understand… Ok, Kool Aide drinkers... Even this should be easy enough to understand.

"This is the most important fact to understand about the current financial reform debate. While the details matter a great deal, the essence of the exercise is to transfer more control over credit allocation and the financial industry to the federal government. The industry was heavily regulated before -- not that it stopped the mania and panic -- but if anything close to the current bills pass, the biggest banks will become the equivalent of utilities." And now you understand why a good deal of us who can see through Obama's smoke screen are worried. The federal government can't run ANYTHING related to a business. Medicare/Medicaid? Run by the government. Going broke. The Post Office? Run by the government. Going broke. Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac? Run by the government. Made US broke.

There you have it. This latest Obama push has little to do with "true reform" and much more to do with transferring control to the federal government! I keep saying this and I feel like a broken record... This is what Obama wants. It's all about control. The man is a control freak!

At best it is another Obama power grab - at worst, it will be a private bailout slush fund that you and I will be ultimately in charge of funding. And I think it's going to be both. :-(

Adding to the growing angst, the Journal continued saying, "The irony is that this may, or may not, reduce the risk of future financial meltdowns and taxpayer bailouts." It won't. It won't because taxes will continue to rise while businesses attempt to play catch up.

Why should American taxpayers have to do anything?

Why can't we allow failing banks, car companies and businesses to fail? Why should we be required to bail them out? I've said this before... LET THEM FAIL! Sure... it sucks for the worker, but it's just what happens. Businesses fail and then are bought by other businesses that can make it work. That's free market my friends and it's been proven. How do I know? It's because it's the only thing that has made America the economic power we once were before Obamanation.

Obama doesn't like Arizona anymore

This is all about illegal immigration and Arizona's tough stance on it.

Let me start by saying I have no issues with immigration for those who do it legally. My wife is a legal immigrant. Illegal immigration is just wrong and I'm glad the Arizona is taking a firm stance. I wouldn't mind being asked if I'm legal.

Screw what the rest of the world thinks while we're at it! Most of them are worse with illegals than we are.

Mexico? They shoot people they catch crossing their southern boarder. No joke!

Most (if not all) European countries will throw you in jail before they send you home, but you will be sent home without passing "Go" to collect your $200.

So why is it that in America, illegals MUST have rights? The only right they should get is a right swift kick in the ass out the door and back to their home country!

Of course, Democrats HATE this. Why? A tougher stance on illegal immigration equals less votes for them!

Obamacare set to increase costs

Again, something you won't see in the liberal media, only on Fox News.

No! NO!!!! IT CAN'T BE!!!!!!!

Who didn't see this coming? Medicare says it and I don't doubt it. Hell, the government can't even run Medicare/Medicaid right. Both programs are broke.

What I don't get is why didn't Obama fix those programs instead of screwing the rest of us? Those are his public options. They have been there all this time, but they needed to be fixed.

What also irritates me is the fact that there are liberals who still think the Republicans want to limit health care coverage. WE DON'T!!!!!! I'm sick of liberals saying:

1. That a very small percentage of conservatives are using scare tactics to win the health care debate.
2. That they won't admit that they are just as bad saying things like Republicans want to make sure that kids and people with preexisting conditions don't get heath care.
3. That conservatives are "astroturf"!

Liberals, listen up! When the stuff hits the fan, I can't WAIT to laugh at you and tell you, "I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!" What am I talking about?

1. Employees of small business owners are going to loose their business health care because these small businesses are going to be squeezed to death by taxes. They won't be able to afford to insure their employees.
2. Obama's reduced health care costs are a hoax. Costs are going to have to go up in order to pay to insure those who aren't currently insured.
3. There will be an increase in medical fees for things like drugs and medical devices. You can't blame the health care industry for raising prices then because they'll need to in order to offset the taxes they are going to have to pay for such things. Again, raising taxes is going to happen in order to help pay for all of this.
4. Businesses are going to pay through the nose if they don't accept Obamacare.

I still don't understand how Obama thinks he can make socialize medicine work when it doesn't work as well in places where it's been there for generations.

Really? SEC staffers surfing porn on government computers???? And I though we were bad in the Navy for being on Facebook!!!

I wonder what would have happened if those guys would have been doing their jobs instead of surfing for porn.... I have to wonder if this was done on purpose. You know... to make sure that the markets would collapse. After all, isn't that what the Obama administration is trying to do without us even thinking about it?

Green schools????

This "green" stuff is going to far. I know that Obama wants more "green" jobs out there, but really....

In a time where our education system isn't the best, the current administration wants to spend money on making schools green rather than on improving on our kids education. How sad.

I'll admit that in "going green", schools might save some money in the long run, but what's more important? The education our kids (aka our future) get or the creation of a few jobs that will be gone the moment the projects are done? I guess not. I guess spending the money on better equipment/supplies isn't as important. How sad. Besides, there are studies that say green schools don't really save money anyway, but of course Obama is going to ignore that just as he ignored the fact that socialized medicine doesn't work.

Besides, what about the safety of our kids? Isn't that more important than going green? I guess not. I guess spending the money on increased security isn't as important. How sad.

I feel for those of you who have kids in the public schools. It's a shame that you couldn't put them in private school, but even at that, you know that those are going to be fewer and fewer if the liberals have their way. Why? It's all about control.

Hitler said that if you can control the media (aka what people know), you can control them. Ever wonder why the Nazi Youth movement took off? Control. Think about it, but kids are even more demanding than their parents are, typically.

Obama still blames Bush

I'm getting sick of Obama bashing Bush all the time. Sure... I didn't agree with everything that Bush did (mostly on illegal immigration), but still... Have some class, Obama, and admit that our current problems are because of you and not Bush. You've been the President for over a year now. OWN UP TO IT!!!!!!!!!!!

WOW... 66% of us are getting as sick of this as I am. It's time Obama started to "man up" to our current situation. For as much as the liberals HATED Bush, at least the man WAS a man and accepted 100% blame for things during his administration rather than trying to play it off on Clinton like Obama is doing to him.

What I'd like to hear on the Communist News Network (CNN) is more about the President's approval rating because Fox News talks about it in this article. I gave CNN the benefit of the doubt and I searched their web site. You'll never guess when they last reported on this. 19 August 2009 when his rating was still over 50%. It's now up to 46% from the lowest of 43%.

Wolf Blitzer pissed me off on this as well. I was listening to Rush a while ago and he was playing all the times Wolf would report on Bush's falling approval rating. Every time Bush's rating would fall, Blitzer was all over that. Not a word on Obama's crapping rating. But then again, you don't bite the hand that feeds.


I find it funny to think that there are 11% of us out there that think the economy's latest up swing was because of Obama. In fact, I think Obama is probably pissed over that one.


Only 8% think our current unemployment rate is due to Obama. How sad. It IS because of Obama. He's trying his best to kill off the private sector, thereby insuring that the only jobs left will be government jobs. Why? It's all about control with him. Why else would he have taken over GM? Why else would he have taken over our health care? Why else is he now trying to take over Wall Street?

Teacher Who Sought to 'Demolish' Tea Party Placed on Leave From School

This is just amazing. I'll defend ANYONE'S right to free speech even if I don't agree with that person, but really....

Here's the associated story from Fox News.

This guy is quoted saying that, "...he would seek to embarrass Tea Partiers by attending their rallies dressed as Adolf Hitler, carrying signs bearing racist, sexist and anti-gay epithets and acting as offensively as possible -- anything short of throwing punches." So he wants to suppress others right to free speech and peaceful assembly. Way to represent the liberals!!!!!! This just goes to show that Obama isn't the only one who doesn't like opposing opinions.

This guy even posted on his web site "Crash the Tea Party", "Some other thoughts are to ask people at the rally to sign a petition renouncing socialism. See just how much info you can get from these folks (name address, DOB, Social Security #). The more data we can mine from the Tea Partiers, the more mayhem we can cause with it!!!!" Again, way to represent!!!!! I would be funny if we Tea Partiers all had Life Lock!

This would be like those who supported the War in Iraq going to those opposed to it rallies and acting up. We all know what would have come of that! Supporters would have been bad mouthed not only by protesters, but the liberal media as well. Yes, I did a search for CNN's story on this. Of course, it doesn't show up!

Obama vs Tea Partiers

This story is originally from Fox News. The story is called, Obama Renews Call for Bipartisanship, Takes Jab at Tea Partiers

This starts off as a joke on Obama's behalf. He urges lawmakers NOT to bow to pressure from lobbyists concerning financial reform, yet he allowed the lobbyists to run roughshod over Obamacare putting so much junk in it, God only knows WHAT'S in the stupid bill!

He claims that he will "...continue to reach out to Republicans and take their ideas into consideration..." Like he's even done that to date! We Republicans (aka The People) DIDN'T want Obamacare, but he passed it anyway. We Republicans (again The People) DIDN'T want his $1 Trillion dollar "Economic Stimulus" package that really only caused unemployment to go over 10% nationally, a number that was higher than at ANY point in W's presidency.

He also believes that, "...his signature economic recovery package with putting more than two million Americans back to work and with cutting taxes for families, small businesses and students." That's not what I heard. Sure he "cut" taxes, but I'm getting ahead of myself. I have YET to see where two million Americans are back to work as he claims. Our unemployment rate is still sky high. Below is the unemployment rate on a graph. I've included the years Bush was President. Notice anything???? At least we've leveled out at 9.7%, but even at that, it's STILL higher than ANY point during Bush's years. I even went back to 1948 which is as far back as this data goes. We haven't had it this bad since Regan took over for Carter and we were up to 10.8%. What brought it back down? A REAL cut in taxes, but I'm getting ahead of myself again.

Obama took a jab at the Tax Day Tea Parties. He CLAIMS to have given us a tax cut, but he hasn't. He's upset at us because he thinks we should be thanking him for his "tax cut" that he didn't give us. He DID take less taxes out of our paychecks, but he DIDN'T cut taxes. Let me explain this.

So lets say that you normally owe a total of $5,000 in federal taxes annually based on your income. Normally, you'd have around $416 or so taken for federal taxes each month from your pay check. This would mean that you've paid you $5,000 bill at the end of the year. If you ended up paying more than $5,000 because you've been paying more than $416 a month, then great because you get that money back when you do your tax return....

This is what Obama did to us...

His idea of a tax break was to take less than the $416 you normally pay so that you have more money to spend in your pay check. Lets say he decided to cut the amount in half, so now your getting $208 taken out a month. YES!!! I get an extra $208 a month in my pay check!!!! Oh, but wait, there's more!!!! A REAL tax break includes an adjustment to the annual amount you owe. Normally, the monthly cut would also include an annual cut (the REAL reason you had the monthly cut to being with), but that didn't happen. Obama left you still owing a total of $5,000 so that at the end of the year, you still owe $2,500 in federal taxes.

There are people who do this all the time, but they know about it. What they do is save up the money they would have paid for federal taxes to pay at the end of the year. That's what's really jacked up about what Obama did. I didn't even know about this until I went to do my taxes a couple of weeks ago. Damn good thing I had gone to school or else I would have owed money for the first time in my life.

Obama is also missing the fact that taxes are not the only thing that Tea Partiers are complaining about. We don't like big government spending, Obamacare and his "stimulus" package putting generations of American's into debit BEFORE they are even born!

Obama thinks we are SO stupid to think that Obamacare puts more control into the people's hand. BS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's ALL about government control!

Oh... and he's daring Republicans to repeal Obamacare. YES WE CAN!!!!!!!!!!!

He says Republicans use scare tactics concerning Obamacare. Isn't this a scare tactic?

CHILLING LETTER TO OBAMA

This was an open letter from a Procter and Gamble Executive to the President. The last sentence is the most chilling.

I'm going to add my own personal comments within this letter. I'll color them red so you can tell what's original and what I've added.

You scare me because after months of exposure, I know nothing about you. Let's not forget the months of continued campaigning he's done. All you hear about is Obamacare this and Obamacare that!

You scare me because I do not know how you paid for your expensive Ivy League education and your upscale lifestyle and housing with no visible signs of support. Yeah, because he was SUPPOSED to be from a humble background. You DON'T make it into the Ivy League without connections or money. It just doesn't happen.

You scare me because you did not spend the formative years of youth growing up in America and culturally you are not an American. According to his wife, Michelle, he's from Kenya.

You scare me because you have never run a company or met a payroll. I'm not sure how many other past Presidents have, but this point is still valid because Obama either doesn't understand what new taxes will do to companies or (even scarier) he does.

You scare me because you have never had military experience, thus don't understand it at its core. There have been Presidents that haven't served in the past, but Democrats typically don't like the military anyway.

You scare me because you lack humility and 'class', always blaming others. Yeap... he STILL blames Bush after the man not being in office for over a year now. Sorry, Obama, but what's going on now longer has anything to do with Bush. Oh but wait, he does show humility to those who really don't deserve as much as he has given. Take the Japanese Royal Family. To bow slightly is a form of respect. To bow as deep as he did is a form of submission. Just goes to show how much of a cultural idiot Obama is.

You scare me because for over half your life you have aligned yourself with radical extremists who hate America and you refuse to publicly denounce these radicals who wish to see America fail. And what gets me is that his supports STILL say that his associations have NOTHING to do with him. I've told them that would be like them hanging out with pot heads. Of course, everyone is going to assume you're a pot head too if you don't come out and say that what they are doing is wrong and that you don't do that.

You scare me because you are a cheerleader for the "blame America" crowd and deliver this message abroad. That REALLY pissed me off! Obama's Bash America tour made me sick! To think that he could talk that bad about a country that allowed him to even become President, let alone gave him the education he claims to have.

You scare me because you want to change America to a European style country where the government sector dominates instead of the private sector. This is one of the reasons some Europeans leave their home country. They see America as the true land of opportunity that it is. I just wish Obama would open his eyes to see that same thing.

You scare me because you want to replace our health care system with a government controlled one. Government heath care has yet to do as overall good a job as private has done for us. Why else would so many come to America to get their heath care? It's because their government either won't pay for it or the waiting list is SO long.

You scare me because you prefer "wind mills" to responsibly capitalizing on our own vast oil, coal and shale reserves. I'll agree that alternative fuels are not a bad thing, but we still need and depend on oil, coal and shale to move us. It's not time to make a radial departure for now. This change is something that MUST come little by little.

You scare me because you want to kill the American capitalist goose that lays the golden egg which provides the highest standard of living in the world. It's true. The European Union formed to combat America because they were loosing in the world market thanks to their socialist business model.

You scare me because you have begun to use "extortion" tactics against certain banks and corporations. That's right. Either you join us or you are the enemy.

You scare me because your own political party shrinks from challenging you on your wild and irresponsible spending proposals. This is sad. I also blame Peloci and Reid for this. They are the ones who are bulling other Congreemen/women into what they want.

You scare me because you will not openly listen to or even consider opposing points of view from intelligent people. But MOST Democrats do this. They think everyone should think the same way. What a horrible idea to be like a lemming.

You scare me because you falsely believe that you are both omnipotent and omniscient. He acts as though he answers to no one. Well... he's going to have a rude surprise in 2012!

You scare me because the media gives you a free pass on everything you do. Yet they are quick to jump on conservatives such as Bush or Palin.

You scare me because you demonize and want to silence the Limbaughs, Hannitys, O'Reillys and Becks who offer opposing, conservative points of view. Again, Democrats don't want opposing views to their own. Believe me, I know what I'm saying. Rather than agreeing to disagree, they call you names (mostly bad that I can't repeat here) and end it with you're an idiot and you don't know what you are talking about.

You scare me because you prefer controlling over governing. I don't think he understands that he's here to GOVERN not control. Or maybe it's that he doesn't understand that there is a difference.

Finally, you scare me because if you serve a second term I will probably not feel safe in writing a similar letter in 8 years. To be honest, I don't feel safe writing this myself NOW. After all, you've been warned about people like me from the head of Homeland Security, Janet Napolitano. I'm a vet and I still support our military. I believe in the right to own and carry arms. I believe in the Bible. I oppose illegal immigration. I oppose abortion. I oppose homosexual marriage.

This letter was sent to the NY Times but they never acknowledged it. Go figure. They are a part of the liberal state sponsored media.

Big surprise. Since it hit the internet, however, it has had over 500,000 hits. Keep it going. All that is necessary for evil to succeed is that good men do nothing.. It's happening right now.

Obamacare... What does it really mean?

Remember Nancy Pelosi's now infamous statement, "We have to pass the bill so you can find out what is in it"? Now that ObamaCare is law, Americans are expressing "buyer's remorse" at a quickly increasing rate.

Here are some of the "prizes" we are beginning to discover inside ObamaCare:

Prize #1: Senior care has been gutted.

Jim Martin, chairman of the 60 Plus Association, laments that ObamaCare will lead to HUGE cuts in services for seniors, especially those on Medicare. The changes, he says, are so extensive that they will inevitably lead to rationing of care.

"You've got a report coming out from the New England Journal of Medicine that nearly 45 percent of doctors may start refusing to take Medicare patients. With fewer doctors and fewer funds, that means more people in line, and that means if you have to have some kind of emergency operation or test done, you're not going to get it. That's why seniors are upset," Martin says.

Reports from other seniors' advocacy groups are similar - with the notable exception of AARP. That iconic organization betrayed their members' interests and supported ObamaCare because of the enormous financial windfall they expect to receive in their insurance business.

By filing our lawsuit against ObamaCare, Liberty Counsel is standing up for American seniors, who above all others deserve coverage from a Medicare system they paid into throughout their working years.

Prize #2: Bernie Madoff-style accounting.

One of the most painful revelations about ObamaCare is coming through its unstated costs - the realities of budgeting and implementing this monstrous bill over many years to come. The bill's advertised price tag of one trillion dollars was

sheer fantasy.

ObamaCare's financial structure is based on a Ponzi Scheme of collecting taxes for 10 years while only offering 6 years of service. In the post-passage light of day, realistic cost estimates now range from $2.4 trillion to unfathomably high numbers because the 2,700 page bill is filled with loopholes that are subject to interpretation.

Sen. Jim DeMint (R-SC) has repeatedly said that ObamaCare could bankrupt our nation. Recently, Massachusetts State Treasurer Tim Cahill, who oversees the funding for the only state health care system comparable to ObamaCare, issued the same prognosis.

There are literally scores of new bureaucracies listed in the pages of the President's final bill. For instance, 16,500 unbudgeted new IRS Agents will have to be hired. One thing is for sure: The ancillary costs of this government takeover will far exceed those projected by ObamaCare's architects.

Prize #3: Americans will pay higher prices for...everything.

According to the Wall Street Journal, ObamaCare's cost to American corporations could reach $14 billion this year alone. Companies like Prudential, Verizon, AT&T, John Deere, 3M, Caterpillar, Valero Energy and others have already announced the anticipated additional costs - and they are staggering.

Of course, American citizens will ultimately pay the price for these rising costs, even for non-medical products and services.

Prize #4: States are left holding the bag.

Fourteen states' attorneys general so far have filed lawsuits against ObamaCare because it is unconstitutional and their budgets are squarely in the crosshairs. By 2014, for instance, states will be required to pay fully half of the administrative costs that result from the expansion of Medicaid under the plan.

These are just a few of the myriad "prizes" in ObamaCare that are coming to light. The actual cost of the 2,700-page bill no one was allowed time to read before it was forced through Congress is yet to be determined. One thing is certain: There will be many more painful "discoveries" about ObamaCare going forward.

Those who find fault with ObamaCare must be very careful about how they express their opinion. Apparently, ANY negative report on ObamaCare is going to be squelched!

House Energy and Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA) sent letters to the CEO's of companies reporting huge additional costs from ObamaCare, demanding all documents supporting their findings. Next, he wants to see them on Capitol Hill for congressional hearings!

This bullying is nothing less than censorship and suppression - the very Chicago-style politics that the Obama/Pelosi/Reid axis used to get their healthcare "reform" bill passed. It is not to be tolerated!

Christans don't matter, but Muslims do!

Now don't get me wrong as you read this. I'm in to the 1st Amendment that protects everyone's right to their own religion. I just don't like that Obama says one thing, but does something opposite of what he says. He didn't want National Prayer Day, which is OK for him, but that also means, by extension, that NO religion should be allowed a National Prayer Day. If he was really into "no offending anyone," then why do I feel offended?

In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a "National Day of Prayer."

In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer.

In June 2007, (then) Presidential candidate Barack Obama declared that America was no longer a Christian nation.

This year President Obama, canceled the 21st annual National Day of Prayer ceremony at the White House under the rouse of "not wanting to offend anyone".

On September 25, 2009 from 4 am until 7 pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim religion was held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House. There were over 50,000 Muslims that day in DC.

I guess it doesn't matter if "Christians" are offended by this event - we obviously won't count as "anyone" anymore.

The direction this country is headed should strike fear in the heart of every Christian, especially knowing that the Muslim religion believes that if Christians cannot be converted they should be annihilated.

I hope that this information will stir your spirit. The words of 2 Chronicles 7:14 "If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

We must pray for our nation, our communities, our families, and especially our children.

They are the ones that are going to suffer the most if we don't PRAY!
